20th Annual Tim Plum Run - November 26

The 20th Annual Tim Plum Run will be held as usual on Thanksgiving morning, November 26th, starting from the WEST Lake Forest train station at 8:00 AM. This is always a fun event that is enjoyed by many friends and neighbors in addition to our club members. Coffee and refreshments will be served upon completion of the 5K or 10K course. And be on the lookout for a giant turkey, and maybe a pilgrim or two! Please remember to bring some non-perishable goods to contribute to the Northern Illinois Food Bank. As we all know, there are more people than ever in need of help this year, and the food banks and other charities are requesting extra assistance, so please be as generous as possible. This is a great way to start your Thanksgiving Day holiday!

2009 Club Holiday Party - December 4

Be sure to get your Holiday Party reservations in as soon as possible. The party will be held again this year at the Highland Park Country Club (1201 Park Avenue West, Highland Park, IL 60035). The date is Friday, December 4, at 6:00 PM. Come for great food, music and entertainment. Plus it is such fun to get together once a year with your fellow runners not wearing running attire and see what they all look like with actual clothes on! The year's highlights and awards for outstanding accomplishments and services to the club will be featured. Help Wanted in 2010!

There are several opportunities to volunteer for the club board for next year. This is your chance to get involved in organizing club activities, and we are looking for club members to step up and help as the club news editor, social director, and merchandise manager. Please consider helping out. If you are interested, please let president Amy Haney or any other board member know.

Race News

In case you were not aware, club vice president and next year's incoming club president Shelley Cook was the 1st place female (12th overall!) at this year's Chicago Lakefront 50/50 50K on October 31st! Shelley raced her first ever 50K in an impressive 4:18:30. Congratulations Shelley on your 1st place finish, and on your upcoming presidency!
