2009 Chicago Marathon Aid Station

IMPORTANT NOTE : This year the race will start at 7:30 AM instead of 8:00 AM, so plan to arrive earlier than last year. Please plan on arriving for check-in no later than 6:30 AM! Further details are on the registration page.

The Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Running Club will be assisting at the Mile 23.2 mark, also known as Aid Station #18. The station is located on S. Michigan Avenue, between 33rd and 34th Streets. The first 60 volunteers to register will receive a cool Nike 2009 marathon jacket and hat. Ask for the jacket/hat assigned to you at the aid station check-in.

There are only 60 volunteer slots available to us this year, so please register as soon as possible. You must register to be a volunteer online at : www.chicagomarathon.com/AidStation18Volunteers. Choose the following aid station identifier from the drop down list : Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Running Club - Aid Station 18. Then you will need the following password in order to register successfully : aidstation18 (it is important to use all lower case letters when entering the password). Due to the limited number of volunteer slots, it is very important that you plan on committing to the event if you register as a volunteer. If your plans change at the last minute, and you cannot fulfill your volunteer obligations, please make arrangements for a friend or family member to take your place so that your volunteer slot is filled.

Please note that due to new liability/insurance limitations, the marathon staff are unable to have children under the age of 16 participate as a volunteer.

Check-in is at the corner of S. Michigan Ave. and 34th Street. From the Dan Ryan Expressway 90/94, exit at 35th Street, go east to S. Michigan Ave. This is the Sox Park/Cellular Field exit. Parking is free and available near the aid station. In addition, parking lots are located near the corner of S. Michigan Ave. and 35th Street.

Please plan to arrive by 6:30 AM. If late, various marathon-use roads (i.e. 35th Street) will be closed!!
