MEET 'N GREET THIS SATURDAY
Shelley Cook, our Social Chair, is planning a Meet 'n Greet for this Saturday, 4/26, at the station after the morning run. So invite family, friends, neighbors to join us for the run and/or coffee and treats afterward. See you there.
RACE NEWS Jack Zordan, Race Director
CONGRATULATIONS to:
Annie Gasway - 1st overall woman finisher at the Shamrock Shuffle 8K
Julian Gordon - 1st place age group finisher at Bronx Half-Marathon; Cary Half-Marathon; and Shamrock Shuffle 8K.
Fast Eddy Packel is "back" - 1st place age group at Shamrock Shuffle 8K, and 2nd place age group finish at Oak Park 5K.
River-to River - Three club-supported teams participated in the 2008 River to River relay race:
The "Lactic Acid Junkies" captained by Mike Terry finished 3rd in the Mixed Division
The "Eight Deadly Sins" captained by Keith Stewart finished 5th in the Handicap Division
Dave Engelke's Team "big E's Family Affair" finished.
UPCOMING RACES:
May 3 - Run to Remember 5K - Chicago (CARA Circuit) This is an annual run and 5K walk along the Chicago lakefront. The event is sponsored by the Chicago Police Running Club. Proceeds benefit the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.
May 10 - Fitness Together 50 HECTO race 5K - Wheaton (CARA circuit)
May 18 - Health Bridge Road Runners 5K - Crystal Lake (CARA circuit)
May 26 - Elgin Valley Fox Trot 10M, 5K - Elgin (CARA circuit)
